Step by step. What you should do when your loved one passes away:
1. When a person dies, you first need to call your district (family) doctor or the ambulance station, dialling 999 or 112 (from cell phones). The responsibility of the doctor is to certify the death.
2. After confirming the death, the doctor writes the "death card", which will then be the basis for issuing the death certificate by the registry office. Confirmation of death is the grounds for transportation of the corpse.
3. Afterwards, you inform the funeral company, which will conduct the funeral ceremony.
4. The corpse is being transported to the municipal morgue or to the funeral company, if the company has its own refrigerator.
5. Going to the funeral company, you need to take:
►the death card written by the district doctor or the doctor from the ambulance team
►the ID cards of the deceased person and of their spouse
►the certification from the working place or the document certyfying that the deceased was a pensioner or was retired
Most funeral companies help with all formal and legal procedures, including the collection of the funeral benefit and making sure the death certificate is issued.
6. In the funeral company, the following details are dealt with:
►the date of the farewell and of the burial or cremation
►choosing the coffin or the urn
►deciding about the type of religious rite or secular funeral
